Sometimes it pays to be sick. Emphasis on "sometimes".

Eric surprised me today with these boots I've been eyeing.
My Man...he gets me.

:Fall Into Reading Review: Abomination by Colleen Coble

I’m not sure what is going on with my book-making decisions lately but they’ve been lacking. Because this book and I? We were not a good team. When I first read the premise of this book it was so intriguing that I had to get myself a copy. Seriously, read this awesome summary:

"A beautiful woman stands by the side of the road, barefoot and bleeding, a child in her arms. Someone just tried to kill her, but she wouldn't recognize him if she saw his face. She doesn't even remember her own name.

A suburban cop surveys a kitchen in disarray-a woman and child missing, a chilling note. This crime scene is unlike any he has ever seen.

The man who calls himself Gideon waits and plans. He sees himself as a destroyer of evil, one who rids the world of abominations. He has already killed five. He will kill again.

And somewhere in the wilderness, in a secret geocache near where the wild swans gather, lies the unspeakable clue that links them all together.

Michigan's rugged and beautiful Upper Peninsula is the setting for this absorbing tale of love and loss, beauty and terror, grievous sins and second chances. A deftly woven thriller from the popular author of the Rock Harbor novels.
"

However, the book itself didn't live up to the back-of-the-book description. I knew early on that I wasn’t going to enjoy this book as much as I do others in its genre because of the style of writing. I have to admit it was a hard one to pull through for me because even with the action it didn’t hold my attention for too long. It reminded me of a Karen Kingsbury in terms of writing style-- rather simple. Nothing wrong with that unless you are looking for something a little more intricately written.

If you are looking for a simple, mysterious read it is probably the book for you.

If you are looking for something with a little more substance…I wouldn’t recommend it.

Baby Daddy.

Below, in pictures, are my four favorite moments from this week's episode. Of course, an honorable mention is that portion in the opening scene when Michael ends up eating his fake watermelon baby. What? Seriously? {Insert my stunned expression here.} He makes me laugh.

The Office, It Makes Being Sick A Little Less Horrible

How do I love The Office? Let me count the ways.

I am SO GLAD my show is back and making me laugh.  If only I didn't have to wait a whole week for the next episode. {sigh}

My five favorite quotes from tonight's 'sode:

1. "Let's get ethical...ethical..."

2.  "Because...I'll take up smoking. I'll do it!"

3.  "You need to be Robin Williams and M. Night Shyamalan. You need to be Robin Shyamalan."

4. "We're trying to help you, stupidbag." (The look Michael gave the camera while he was saying that had me hysterical!)

5. And my favorite moment/quote of the night:  "You are a thief of joy."

What were your favorite quotes?

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

I'm so sick and blah and sad and sniffly that Eric agreed the only way to cheer me up was to unleash me in the iTunes store. So, I purchased the following 31 songs to add to my Christmas Music Collection. I have a ton more waiting to be chosen in my shopping cart but for now...these are getting me through!

When in doubt, always, always, ALWAYS, purchase an Ella Fitzgerald album. Especially anything holiday of hers. Genius.

Tips, People, I Need Tips

On a few favorite blogs of mine I've been reading about the all-out love certain ladies have for scrapbooking. I'm a crafty person and have been looking for something to take up a little downtime and keep these hands busy! So, I did a little research and found myself an awesome scrapbook kit. My plan is to scrapbook some favorite photos of our wedding - since I'm seriously behind in this area!

The problem is that this kit came with a million things. The million things and I have a few questions:
1. What is the best storage system you have found for scrapbooking?
2. On the norm, how many photos do you put on each page? I am feeling conflicted on this one and cannot bring myself to attach anything permanently!
3. What is the number one scrapbook tool you cannot live without?
4. Got any great scrapbooking websites with tips I can check out?
5. Any other tips or suggestions? I'd love {read: need!} to know.
